Recreation Center

The annual Catfish Fishing Derby is held in San Gabriel Park, Georgetown, usually on the first Saturday of May. The times are from 7:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m.

Ticket prices are $2.00 for 12 & under and $3.00 for 13 & up. One pole per person. Fishing permit required for participants 17 & older.

Prizes include: fishing rods, tackle boxes, lures and gift certificates. The event is sponsored by Georgetown Parks and Recreation, US Fish and Wildlife, Sportsman's Warehouse & Catfish Palour.
