Texas Outdoor Family Workshop
Overview
The Texas Outdoor Family Workshop is an innovative partnership between Georgetown Parks and Recreation and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. It is supported by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and several outdoor retailers.
Many of us here in Georgetown Parks and Recreation have been trained to teach at this event, but we offer so many activities that we also depend on volunteer instructors. We seek outdoor enthusiasts who would like to share their skills, and have been very lucky to find several experienced teachers to come and help us.
At the workshop your family will learn about camping, cooking outdoors, fishing, archery, kayaking and more in a fun, hands-on manner. NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY! Come learn basic, traditional outdoor skills so you can enjoy all the wonderful parks and outdoor activities available locally and across the state!
