Challenge Course
Everyone lives, works, and plays within the context of some type of connected group or team. Effectiveness, success, and genuine enjoyment within this context will only occur when each individual learns to apply their skills and talents to the team as a whole.
The question we are then faced with is "How and where do we learn to think and act with the group in mind?" The goal of the Georgetown Challenge Course is to facilitate your team's discovery of the answer.
Nestled among the trees lining the North San Gabriel River, the course consists of many low team elements, 22 new and exciting high elements (including parallel zip-lines), and two climbing walls. Our course is open year round to accommodate your team building needs, special event, or corporate training schedule. We can also provide special skill workshops including rock climbing or rappelling.
Our Facilitators
Our staff will help groups reach desired goals, enhance group cohesiveness, increase communication, and build trust. Trained facilitators will guide you to make the connection between the experience and the real-life application through focused discussion. As a part of this group focus, we also provide the opportunity for personal growth, gained insight, a renewed spirit, and confident energy accomplished through shared success.
Our Programs
We tailor teambuilding programs to fit the needs and goals of your group. We typically offer a four-hour program, which includes games, problem solving initiatives and extensive low elements that target team building and communication. We also offer an eight-hour program, which includes our customary four-hour session with team and individual high elements. We also offer specialized programs, which include climbing sessions, rappelling clinics, and gaming sessions on our course or at your site.

How We Do It
Based on the information we receive about your group we then design a program based on your specific goals. Course challenges may include one of our low element activities such as walking across a suspended wire cable two feet above the ground as part of a group problem solving initiative. We also have our high element activities such as jumping from a pole 35 feet above the ground and reaching for a trapeze while being belayed (connected to safety system with a harness). Possible programming considerations include type of group, length of program, number of participants, and physical limitations. The experience you have may include elements that focus on physical challenges and/or elements that are more mentally/emotionally challenging. As facilitators we ensure that we provide programming that will fit you and your group's needs.
Challenge by Choice
The Georgetown Challenge Course also stands firm to a "Challenge By Choice" principle. This principle states that you and your group may decide how far to challenge yourselves. It is also a guarantee that we as facilitators will encourage you to step out of your natural comfort zone, while not forcing you to participate in any activity for which you are not ready.
Not the End, But the Beginning...
The challenge course is designed to jump-start your group's effectiveness and move you toward success. Whether you are a seasoned team wanting to boost performance, or a brand new group desiring to grow your relationships, we will provide a program to meet those needs. Your team will learn things about itself, and each individual will learn things about him/herself, which will apply to ongoing success in whatever field your endeavors occur.
