Sitter Service Policies
- Sitter Service is provided only for Recreation Center Members and participants in the Recreation Center's instructional classes. With the exception of walking / running in San Gabriel Park, parents must be in the Recreation Center while using Sitter Service.
- Sitter Service is for children aged 12 months - 6 years old. Sitters will not change diapers - the parent will be asked to do so if it becomes necessary.
- Parents must purchase a monthly or daily Sitter Pass. Sitter must make sure each family has a valid Sitter Pass on each visit, and let the front desk staff know if a member's pass has expired.
- Parents must check children in and out on the 'Sign In / Out Sheet' in the Sitter binder. Please fill out form completely
- Only the Sitter and 12 children are allowed in the Children's Activity Room during Sitter Service hours. In the event that there are 2 Sitters, there may be up to 24 children in the Sitter Room. At this point, Sitters are encouraged to take the older children to play elsewhere in the Recreation Center.
- At peak hours, please limit your workout to 1 hour so others may use the Sitter Service. If the Sitter Service is full, we will ask parents to pick up the children who have been here for longer than 1 hour.
- In case of an accident or injury, parents are to be notified immediately.
- Sick children are not allowed in our Children's Activity Room during the Sitter Service. Specifically, children who have had a fever in the past 24 hours, children who have vomited in the last 24 hours, children who have had diarrhea in the last 24 hours and children who have green discharge from the nose are not to use the Sitter Service. Children who have lice or nits are not to use the Sitter Service. The staff reserves the right to remove sick children from the Children's Activity Room in order to prevent others from becoming ill.
- When a child's behavior is disruptive, harmful to others, or the child will not respond to correction, the child will be immediately removed from the sitter room and taken to his/her parent. Sitter will fill out a behavior report. Any child having recurring behavior problems will have their sitter privilege revoked until the problems are corrected.
- For the safety of all the children, food or drinks are not allowed in the Children's Activity Room at any time. *Many children have food allergies; some are very severe. *All our members and guests are welcome to enjoy their snacks in the lobby.
- Children must be supervised at all times. Sitter may decide to take children to playscape if weather is nice, or into Game Room or Gymnasium. Sitter may not watch television, do homework / read, talk on the phone or visit with friends while on duty.
- Sitter is responsible for cleaning the Children's Activity Room after the Sitter Service shift. All members are asked to clean up after themselves and their children when they use the Children's Activity Room at other times of day.
