Abrakadoodle
Fee: $50 R / $55 NR
Program Director: Brenda SabbaghMini-Doodler Enrichment Classes for 3 to 5 year olds
Come explore the world of artists, mediums, and styles through the nationally recognized curriculum of Abrakadoodle. Each lesson introduces an artist, an important piece of work by that artist, and various mediums and techniques that the children use as a springboard for their own creative interpretation and execution of that work Most lessons are framed so you can easily create a gallery of work at home for your artist to show your appreciation of that all important IQ (Imagination Quotient!) Curriculum is age appropriate. Research shows that early exposure to the arts helps prepare children for success in school (and life) by developing fine motor skills, language and cognitive capabilities, school readiness skills, self-confidence and expressive skills. And kids have FUN in our classes!

Course # 22848 April 8, 15, 22 & 29: WOW Effects (continued)
WOW Effects! Just like onomatopoeia these lessons have WOW effects! From jumping lines to colorful geometrics to roads sending us off into the horizon, we’ll learn about making an impression. It may be a colorful yet soft impression like in our chalk pastel creations that are in the style of Diego Rivera. He depicted everyday life in the Mexican countryside. It may be a bold impression such as our pop art designs with Benday Dots like the work of Roy Lichtenstein. Other thought-provoking impressions are made through lines that seem to move, an unusual abstract still life, and much more! This will impress you!Lessons in the first session include Roy Lichtenstein, Geometric Jumble Doodle, Diego Rivera, and an Artist Challenge, while the second session covers Carlo Marini, Jumping Lines Doodle, Heinz Kirchner, and a Gene Davis Artist Challenge.
Course # 22849 May 6, 13, 20 & 27: Something’s Fishy!Something’s fishy about the way we are creating our art! From fish signs to colorful underwater scenes to cats dreaming of fish, those scaly swimmers are all around us. We learn about the bright colors and tropical fish of New Guinea represented in the work of Nathalie Le Riche. Read about Mr. Plumbean’s odd house in “The Big Orange Spot” and explore the texture and symbolism of rock art. Our art is as distinctive as it is sparkly, pearly and full of visual texture! Lessons in the first session include Something’s Fishy, Peek-a-Boo Doodle, Pearly Butterfly Doodle, and an Fish Based Artist Challege!
