In cooperation with the Exceptional Georgetown Alliance, Georgetown Parks and Recreation is offering Adaptive Summer Camp Sessions for Georgetown ISD students. Experienced and trained staff will continue to provide this opportunity to the Georgetown community. These Camps are not designed to work on severe aggressive behavior, but focus on providing a safe, social environment productive of building social and communication skills for all campers.
Our camps focus on social and communication development for campers with Autism Spectrum disorders and other cognitive and developmental disabilities. Themes address basic concepts like feelings, using manners, being part of a group, as well as self-esteem and cooperation. The opportunity for developmental growth of each camper will be provided through a wide range of activities which may include arts and crafts, swimming, field trips, cooperative games, music, daily exercise, and outdoor play. We offer two camps: Let’s Make Friends is designed for our 12 and under campers and Circle of Friends is for ages 13 and older. Please choose your camp accordingly.
Both camps will be held at a GISD campus, and will determined at a later date.
FOCUS: Cognitive and Developmental disabilities, Autism Spectrum
REQUIREMENTS: Georgetown ISD ONLY. Must be able to coexist in a small group setting.
A 2018 Summer Camp Liability and Policy Agreement must be completed by Parent / Legal Guardian and is due at the time of registration.
A 2018 Adaptive Camp Supplemental Registration Form must also be completed by Parent / Legal Guardian.
Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. on March 26 (R) and March 27 (NR).
A $30 nonrefundable deposit is due at time of registration. The remaining balance for camp must be paid in full by the Monday one week prior to the start of camp (7 days in advance of scheduled attendance). If the balance is not paid in full by the Monday one week prior to camp, your child’s spot will be forfeited to the next child on the waitlist. You will lose your reservation and your $30 deposit.
Refunds, minus the $30 nonrefundable deposit, will only be given if notice is received 7 or more days prior to the start of camp. No refund will be given with less than 7 days’ notice. Complete refunds (including deposits) will only be given for departmental cancellations. Because of staffing requirements, fees will not be prorated for partial attendance. Tuition is based on a full week.
