In cooperation with the Exceptional Georgetown Alliance, Georgetown Parks and Recreation offers Adaptive Summer Camp session for Georgetown ISD students.

Led by experienced staff, our adaptive camps are designed for those with cognitive and developmental disabilities and Autism Spectrum disorders.  Focus will be on providing a safe, social environment productive of building social and communication skills for all campers.  Camps are not designed to work on severe aggressive behavior.

Themes address basic concepts like feeling, using manners, being part of a group, as well as self-esteem and cooperation.  The opportunity for developmental growth of each camper will be provided through a wide range of activities with may include arts and crafts, swimming, field trips, cooperative games, music, daily exercise, and outdoor play.  Camps will be held at a Georgetown ISD campus.  Location will be announced at a later date.

FOCUS: Cognitive and Developmental disabilities, Autism Spectrum
REQUIREMENTS: Georgetown ISD ONLY. Must be able to coexist in a small group setting.
