Face covering requirements for Parks & Recreation facilities and programs
Georgetown Parks and Recreation is committed to keeping our staff, members and guests safe during this unprecedented time and will follow the local face covering order put in place by the City of Georgetown.
Effective immediately, all staff members will be wearing face coverings, with these exceptions:
- Lifeguards while on stand
- Instructors teaching outdoor programs, tennis and fitness classes while maintaining six feet physical distancing
- Staff alone in private offices
Beginning Friday, July 3, all members and guests ages 10 and older will be required to wear face coverings at all indoor public Parks and Recreation facilities and while participating in indoor programs.
Face coverings are required at all times while inside the facility, including while exercising, participating in fitness classes, using the gymnasium, etc. The only exception to this is while swimming in the indoor or outdoor pools.
Face coverings must be worn while inside the building. This includes checking in for your court assignment or utilizing the restrooms facilities. As long as a six feet physical distancing can be maintained, face coverings are not required while playing tennis.
Face coverings are required for those ages 10+ while participating in all indoor programs.
