Program Cancellation and Withdrawal Policy

The Georgetown Tennis Center is now offering pickleball!

Come join us at GTC to learn about one of the fastest-growing sports in America  – Pickleball. Described as a combination of tennis, badminton, and ping pong, this racquet sport is fast-paced and tons of fun.

The Georgetown Tennis Center now has 12 lined pickleball courts on six of our existing tennis courts.

Reservations
Players must make reservations by calling the Tennis Center at 512-931-2444. Reservations may be made one week in advance.

Reservation time will be limited to two hours and a maximum of four people per court. No more than four people may be part of the reservation. Individuals may not play under more than one reservation per day. 

Please leave the court promptly when your reservation time has expired.

Nets will be set up and taken down by staff only. Please do not move the nets.

Pickleball Programs

Pre-registration required. Spots are limited.

Beginning October 3, 2022, parents/caregivers or other spectators are not permitted on the courts, to encourage children to focus on the lessons. You are welcome to observe your child from outside the courts or on our patio at the top of the hill.

Pickleball Demo Day

Ages 18+
Interested in pickleball? This is the program for you. This two-hour session includes one hour of basic instruction and rules of the game followed by one hour of practice play.

Private Pickleball Instruction

Head Tennis Pro, Pete Polkinghorn, and Assistant Pro, Tim Craig, are available for private pickleball instruction, including semi-private and private groups.

Pickleball private instruction is by appointment only at (512) 931-2444. 24-hour notification for cancellation is required. No-shows will be charged the full lesson rate.

Indoor Pickleball at the Georgetown Recreation Center

Tuesdays & Thursdays: 8 a.m. – noon (4 courts available 9 a.m.-noon)
Wednesdays: 6-8:45 p.m.
Sundays: noon-3 p.m.
Three courts are marked on the floor of Gym 2, and we move the nets into place for scheduled play. Paddles are available to borrow, and balls are available for sale at the Front Desk for $4 each . Indoor Pickleball is included in Georgetown Recreation Center memberships. Without a facility membership, purchase of a Daily Visit ($6 / person) is required.

Outdoor Pickleball Courts at McMaster Athletic Complex

Open seven days a week, daylight until dark
Four courts are located in the southeast corner of the McMaster Athletic Complex (corner of N. College St. and WL Walden), in the area formerly used as the inline hockey rink. The courts are available on a first-come, first served basis. Players must provide their own paddles and balls, which can be purchased at Academy or from a number of online vendors.
