Indoor Pool Rules

Lifeguards will enforce all rules for the safety of our visitors. Please be respectful of our staff.

  • Children ages 0-11 years must be accompanied to the pool by a Chaperone.
  • Chaperone must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Chaperone of children ages 0-6 years must be in a bathing suit and be actively participating in the water with their children at all times.
  • Chaperone of children ages 7-11 years must remain in the Aquatic Area at all times.
  • All swimmers are required to take a cleansing shower before entering the pool.
  • Attire:
    • Bathing suits are required at ALL City of Georgetown pools (nylon lycra suits for females and swim trunks for males).
    • Triathlon attire is allowed, permitted that it is swim appropriate.
    • Swimwear with exposed zippers, buckles, or metal ornaments is not permitted.
    • Gym shorts / basketball shorts, denim, cut-offs are not permitted.
    • Cotton t-shirts, cover-ups are not allowed in the pool. Swim shirts and rashguards are fine.
    • Lifeguard gear is not permitted.
  • Swim diapers are required for young children. Regular diapers are prohibited in the pool. Swim diapers are available for purchase if needed.
  • Food, gum and candy are prohibited in the pool area. No glass containers.
  • No running, diving, flips or horse play of any kind.
  • U.S. Coast Guard approved flotation devices only. No water wings or inner tubes allowed.
  • Snorkels and fins must be used in lap lanes only. Masks cannot cover the nose.
  • Lap Swim Etiquette:
    • Lap swimming is only allowed in designated lap lanes.
    • Everyone MUST be prepared to share a lane.
    • Circle swim at all times if multiple people are in a lane (swim down on the right side of the lane , swim back on the left side of the lane). If someone touches your feet, let him/her pass you.
    • No hanging, sitting, or pulling on lane lines.
  • Breath-holding games or breath-holding training is not permitted.
  • No animals allowed in the pool area with the exception of service animals.
  • Anyone having open cuts, wounds, etc. is not permitted in the pool.
  • All tobacco and alcohol products are prohibited.
  • The City of Georgetown is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
  • An admission fee or membership is required to swim prior to or after swim lessons, water aerobics, or scheduled pool parties.
  • Staff reserves the right to stop other behaviors / actions as necessary to ensure the safety of our users. Unacceptable behavior is grounds for immediate dismissal from the facility.
