New Year, New You Challenge starts Jan. 8
Get a jump start on your 2024 fitness goals with the New Year, New You Challenge!
Take classes, try new activities, workout with a buddy and step outside of your comfort zone. You will accrue points for each of these health and wellness activities and will be rewarded when you hit various point levels. If you fill your entire BINGO card, you’ll be entered into a drawing to win an individual one month membership.
Just pick up a BINGO card from the Recreation Center front desk to get started. The Challenge runs Jan. 8-Feb. 4, 2024 and is free for Recreation Center members, or with the purchase of a $6 day pass.
Each box on the BINGO card must be initialed by the class instructor or Georgetown Recreation Center staff. Paid fitness classes are offered first time free and count toward points accumulated.
5 Points:
- Cardio Class – take a cardio class
- Strength Class – take a strength class
- Mind/Body – take a mind/body class
- Paid Fitness Class – no duplicate classes
- Selfie – take a selfie playing ping pong or pickleball + tag @GTXParksAndRec on Facebook, Instagram or X
- Early Bird – workout before 8 a.m.
- Night Owl – workout after 5 p.m.
- Try a New Activity – try something new
- Weekend Workout – come workout on a Sat. or Sun.
- Full Night’s Rest – 6 to 8 hours of sleep
- One Mile – walk/run one mile on indoor track
- Trivia – answer a trivia question from the front desk
- Healthy Snack – enjoy a healthy snack
- Weight Room – 20 minute workout in weight room
- Rest Day – do not forget to take a rest
10 Points:
- Buddy Workout – workout with a buddy
- Write a Note – write a note to your favorite instructor or front desk staff
Rewards:
- 40 points – Stress ball or jump rope
- 85 points – Cooling scarf
- 125 points – Insulated bag
