Pecan tree to be removed in Edwards Park; work begins Sept. 18
A large pecan tree in Edwards Park, 704 Ash St., is scheduled to be removed. The tree trunk is splitting apart, and will fall onto the playground if it breaks. The City of Georgetown Urban Forester consulted with both Bartlett Tree Experts and Legacy Tree Care, who were in agreement that the tree poses a safety hazard and should be removed.
Work will begin Monday, Sept. 18. The public is asked to stay clear of the park during the removal.
