San Gabriel Park Phase 3 Update Meeting June 30

The public is invited to see the design concepts and hear project updates for Phase 3 renovations to San Gabriel Park.

Join us Thursday, June 30 at 6 p.m. at the Georgetown Community Center, 445 E. Morrow St. for a meeting that includes Parks & Recreation staff and representatives from RVi Planning and Landscape Architecture.

Phase 3 renovations include:

  • a large multi-use performance pavilion and festival space
  • a plaza that will include a splash pad and skate park
  • entry monuments
  • roadway and parking improvements
  • shade shelters
  • a new restroom building
  • replacement of the low water crossing across the San Gabriel River to replace the old “duck bridge,” pending available funds

A master plan for redevelopment of the park was completed in 2015 and serves as a blueprint for the improvements.

Funding for the design of Phase 3 was approved in the Fiscal Year 2022 budget, and funding for construction will be requested in the Fiscal Year 2023 budget. This project is being funded with proceeds from the 2008 Park Bond.
