Updated COVID-19 safety guidelines

Effective Monday, May 17, visitors to City facilities will be encouraged, but not required, to wear face coverings.

Our focus remains on protecting our customers and staff while providing the highest level of customer service. We will continue following these safety measures:

  • Staff, contractors and volunteers are encouraged to wear a face covering while working
  • Hand sanitizing stations
  • Enhanced sanitation throughout the day
  • Safe-spacing, floor markers
  • Physical distancing
  • Plexiglass at reception areas

Temperature checks will no longer be required, unless the staff or visitor indicates they are not feeling well.

Recreation Center

Scheduled closures for cleanings at the Recreation Center will stop June 1 and staff will periodically clean throughout the day.

The Center will open back up to the public from noon to 6 p.m. on Sundays starting June 6.

Program Protocols

Our program offerings have been modified to provide the safest possible environment for participants and staff. These guidelines continue to be revised to adhere to state and local guidelines, and apply to all instructor-led programs offered by Georgetown Parks and Recreation.
