Williams Drive now open at Lakeway after gas leak; Williams Drive pool open with regular hours July 14

UPDATE: 8 a.m. July 14

Williams Drive is now open at Lakeway. The Williams Drive pool will reopen Thursday, July 14 with regular hours, 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Due to a gas leak at Lakeway Drive and Williams Drive, the Williams Drive pool will be closed on July 13, 2022. Water Aerobics classes are canceled.

Village Pool will be open 1-7 p.m. Wednesday, July 13 to accommodate swimmers.

Update, 10:30 a.m.–Atmos Energy is evacuating nearby businesses and expects the repairs to take all day. Customers in the area may experience natural gas outages.

The City of Georgetown’s Police, Fire, Streets, Water, and Electric  departments, along with Atmos Energy, are working a significant natural gas leak at the intersection of Williams Drive and Lakeway Drive/Booty’s Crossing. A large gas line was struck by construction crews working in the area.

Businesses in the immediate area have been notified of the ongoing incident.

Motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes around the area, and it is anticipated this incident will create significant traffic complications through the area for most of the day.

Williams Drive at the Lakeway Drive/Booty’s Crossing intersection will be closed until further notice.
