Cupid’s Chase 5K & Fun Run

Join us for the 29th annual Cupid’s Chase 5K Run/Walk, a Georgetown community tradition! The fun-filled family event will also include a Kids 1K Fun Run, for kids ages 10 and under. The 5K will be a chip-timed event.

5K=3.1 miles/Kids 1K=0.62 miles

Once you run this race, you’ll know why people return every year! Besides being tons of fun, it’s a well-supported race, and it benefits the beautiful Georgetown parks.

Parking Information

The race will begin and end in San Gabriel Park, 445 E. Morrow St. Parking is available throughout the park, at the Georgetown Recreation Center, McMaster Athletic Complex, the Georgetown Community Center and the Parks & Recreation Administration Office. Please be mindful of barricades, which will be in place by 7 a.m. Road will be shut down beginning at 7:45 a.m. It is recommended to enter the park from the west via Chamber Way or Morrow St.

Please do not park at the VFW or Masonic Lodge.

Cupid’s Pets

Dogs are always welcome on the Cupid’s Chase course!

  • Dogs are required to be on a non-retractable leash and have their current rabies tags on their collar.
  • Please remember to bring along bags for doggie droppings.
  • Just as you would for yourself, please be aware of your dog’s physical condition and whether he or she is ready to run or walk 3.1 miles.
  • Owners are fully responsible for keeping control of their dogs.
  • By participating, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the City of Georgetown and its sponsors, staff and volunteers from all liability associated from the race.
  • Aggressive dogs will be required to leave the race. No refunds if you’re asked to leave.

Registration/Packet Pickup

Registration

Online registration is closed. You may register in person during packet pickup at the Georgetown Recreation Center on Friday, Feb. 10 or on race morning starting at 6:30 a.m.

Register today and then prepare for the chase in support of Georgetown Parks and Recreation. Register by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 24 to be guaranteed a race shirt! After Jan. 24, race shirts are first-come, first-served at packet pickup.

$30 5K (ages 11+) / $10 Kids 1K Fun Run (ages 10 and under)
Participants will receive a race shirt and runner packet. Fun Run participants will receive a goody bag!

Packet pickup will be held at the Georgetown Recreation Center on Friday, Feb. 10.

There are NO refunds or transfers. No exceptions.

Packet Pickup

You may pick up your race packet (which will include your bib with timing chip) during the following times. Yes, you may pick up a packet for a friend and/or other family members!

  • Friday, Feb. 10 – 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Georgetown Recreation Center, 1003 N. Austin Ave.
  • Race morning from 6:30-7:45 a.m. at the race start.

Unclaimed packets will be available for pick up after the race until Friday, March 17. After March 17, all unclaimed packets will become the property of Georgetown Parks & Recreation. Packets can be picked up at the Parks & Recreation Administration Office, 1101 N. College St. from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on weekdays.

Awards

Awards will be presented to the overall male and female winners and the overall male and female masters winners. The top three male and female finishers in each age division will also receive awards. Awards will also be presented to the top overall male and female City of Georgetown employee. If you are a City of Georgetown employee, please be sure to indicate it when you register.

Unclaimed awards can be picked up at the Parks & Recreation Administration Building, located at 1101 N. College St., 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday, beginning Tuesday, Feb. 15.

More than 100 volunteers are needed to ensure the Cupid’s Chase 5K and Kids Fun Run is a safe and fun event for all. Sign up as an individual or a group!

Volunteers will receive:

  • A 2023 Cupid’s Chase t-shirt
  • Water and snacks on race morning
  • Access to the finish line awards, vendor booths, food and more
