Cheer & Dance

Presented by Texas Honeybees Baton Twirling LLC
Ages 5-10
$55 Resident/$70 Nonresident

If your child has expressed an interest in cheerleading and dance but you aren’t ready to make a huge commitment in time, money and energy, we have the perfect way to start! This noncompetitive beginner-level program teaches the basics:

  • body movement and dance rhythm
  • hand and arm positions
  • posture, balance and coordination
  • performance confidence
  • classic, catchy cheers
Baton Twirling

Ages 5-10
$55 Resident/$70 Nonresident

Join Honeybees Twirling and learn the basics: baton twirling, fundamentals, form and posture, technical skills, and fun tricks. This fun activity improves body movement, rhythm, and coordination and build self-confidence! Batons will be available for use during classes. Participants are also welcome to purchase a custom-fit baton through Texas Honeybees Baton Twirling.

Ballet Basics for Adults

Ages 15+
$90 Resident/$115 Nonresident

If you have a love for movement and dance, join us in Ballet Basics where you will be led through a ballet class that focuses on the overall process and joy of dance rather than fixating on your level of proficiency. Each class
includes barre work, center work and a cool down. Come find out what ballet is all about or return to the art form to revisit what made you initially fall in love with ballet!

Adult Country Western Dance Lessons

Ages 12+
$45 Resident/$55 Nonresident

Each course will focus on a popular country western dance. Novices will learn new skills and gain self-confidence, while more experienced dancers will pick up new steps and polish their technique. No partner is necessary to register. Participants will rotate partners, with everyone learning to both lead and  follow. You will be able to dance anytime, anywhere, with anyone!

Senior Adult Country Western Dance Lessons

Ages 60+
Fees vary based on number of classes offered
$45 Resident/$55 Nonresident

Each course will focus on a popular country western dance. Novices will learn new skills and gain self-confidence, while more experienced dancers will pick up new steps and polish their technique. No partner is necessary to register. Participants will rotate partners, with everyone learning to both lead and follow. You will be able to dance anytime, anywhere, with

Senior Adult Ballroom Dance Lessons

Kinderdance Programs

Kinderdance programs encourage children to love learning by associating it with things that come naturally – music, movement and dance. Program provided by Kinderdance Austin.

KinderTots

Ages 1.5-3
KinderTots is a creative movement-based class for toddlers that will focus on motor skill development, coordination, rhythm and basic dance skills. Parent/caregiver participates with the child. Participants should wear clothing they can move freely in, such as a t-shirt, shorts/leggings, etc. Ballet shoes are encouraged.

Kinderdance

Ages 3-5
Kinderdance is a beginning dance class, teaching the basics of ballet, tap and creative dance. We start at the beginning of ballet/tap technique and work our way up to new skills in each successive course. No parents/guardians or other spectators are permitted in the class, to encourage the dancers to focus on the lesson. Ballet shoes and tap shoes are required; dance attire (leotard & tights for girls / t-shirt & athletic pants for boys) is encouraged.

Kinderdance 2

Ages 4-6
Kinderdance 2 is the next-level program for dancers who have completed a full year of Kinderdance.

Kinderdance For All Abilities

Ages 2-9
Kinderdance for All Abilities is specifically designed for those children with different needs who love to dance and move! We offer a larger range of ages here specifically for those dancers who are physically older but developmentally younger. Our goal is to introduce movement and technique in a fun and supportive setting!

Private Dance Lessons

All ages
$70 Resident/$80 Nonresident (per hour for 1 or 2 people)
5 lesson package – $325 Resident/$375 Nonresident

Kerry Kelly teaches both group and private lessons in social partner-dancing at the Georgetown Recreation Center. With over ten years of teaching experience and innumerable miles under her suede-soled shoes, Kerry believes there is nothing in the world like social dance for the camaraderie, sheer fun, and benefits to the body, mind, and spirit.
