Sunset Movie Series

Georgetown Parks and Recreation’s Sunset Movie Series is a free summer film series in partnership with the Friends of Georgetown Parks and Recreation.

Bring a blanket or chairs, some snacks and enjoy the family movies we have scheduled this summer.

Before the movie starts, grab some free popcorn (while supplies last) and explore the park, meet our vendors and sponsors and enjoy the beautiful Texas summer night!

All movies will begin at sunset, about 8:30 p.m., depending on the month. Movies will be canceled if weather conditions are predicted to be too wet or unsafe. Cancellations will be decided by 2 p.m. on the date of the event, and notice will be posted on our website, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Tips:

    • Arrive early for free popcorn and to visit with our vendors
    • Glass is prohibited
    • Smoking is prohibited
    • Blankets and chairs are allowed
    • Personal food is allowed
    • Friendly dogs on leash are welcome
    • Please help keep our parks clean and pack out what you pack in

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (PG)

Teen Miles Morales becomes Spider-Man of his reality, crossing his path with five counterparts from other dimensions to stop a threat for all realities.

Entry is free into Garey Park for the movie, beginning at 6 p.m. Please arrive early. Entry gates will close at 8:30 p.m.

Decades after her original visit, the magical nanny returns to help the Banks siblings and Michael’s children through a difficult time in their lives.

Everyone’s favorite family of superheroes is back in Incredibles 2 – but this time Helen is in the spotlight, leaving Bob at home with Violet and Dash to navigate the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life.

Join us for a special Parks and Recreation Month pre-movie celebration featuring a presentation from A Safe Place beginning at 6:30 p.m.

How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World (PG)

From DreamWorks Animation comes a surprising tale about growing up, finding the courage to face the unknown…and how nothing can ever train you to let go. What began as an unlikely friendship between an adolescent Viking and a fearsome Night Fury dragon has become an epic adventure spanning their lives.
