Meet Our Trainers

Steve Bauer

Steve’s fitness journey started back in 1996 when he was 60 pounds overweight and could no longer fit into his clothes. At that time, he met with a trainer who gave him a plan to lose weight and eat healthy. He lost 50 pounds and developed a love for fitness. Steve specializes in personal training, strength and conditioning, weight loss, and muscle and cardio endurance with an emphasis on building overall body strength, mobility, balance, flexibility, and range of motion. He works with all fitness levels.

Karin Taylor

Karin holds a B.S. in Exercise and Sports Science, is an ACE Certified Personal Trainer with 20+ years experience, as well as a certified yoga instructor, indoor cycling instructor, and a sports conditioning specialist. Karin’s passion is not only making fitness fun and accessible for everyone’s lifestyle, but also sharing her knowledge, experiences, and tips/tricks to educate her clients on proper form, technique, and exercise programming. She believes in training smarter and harder with effective programs for maximum results. To achieve your goals, you must push past your comfort zone. Fuel your inner athlete; fuel your life.

Leesa Hill

After having twins, Leesa tried being a stay-at-home mom. She looked to a local gym for sanity and soon after became an instructor. She became an ACE certified personal trainer, and eight years later, she still loves every minute of it. She loves motivating people to improve themselves through exercise. Not all people have the same goals or needs from exercise, but it is so rewarding for people to succeed at any level or age.

Laura L. Quiroz

Laura is a Certified Personal Trainer through IFA (International Fitness Association). She is also a Mad Dogg and Fitour certified spin instructor and has taught cycling classes at the Georgetown Recreation Center for many years. She believes keeping active and finding something healthy that you are passionate about is the key to wellness and happiness. She states, “Whether you are training for a race or just enjoying the human race, your proper nutrition, cardio exercise, and strength training is key.”

Josh Turner

Josh Turner is a certified personal trainer and co- founder of Turn Fit Academy.

Josh is a certified personal trainer and co- founder of Turn Fit Academy, as well as a former University of Texas student athlete. He has developed a holistic approach to health & wellness through fitness, working  with all ages and fitness levels. “I want you to look good and strive to feel even better.” In addition to personal fitness training, Josh leads adult boot camp classes, coaches youth track & field courses, and offers athletic training for Georgetown Parks and Recreation.

Joe Ughi

In 2014 Joe weighed 245 lbs. and had 40% body fat, high blood pressure and a cholesterol problem. He tried to get healthier and fitter, but it just wasn’t working; he needed help and some education. At UT Austin he received that education as well as hands-on training. Applying everything he learned about fitness and nutrition, he became so much healthier: Joe lost 70 lbs, lowered his cholesterol, reduced his body fat and dropped his blood pressure to normal levels. Now a certified fitness trainer (NCSF and  W.I.T.S.), Joe believes in hard work, determination and setting goals. “Come to me with your fitness goals and get ready to work!”

Jin Lenhart

Jin Lenhart is a NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) Certified Personal Trainer & Nutrition Coach. She believes that while physical activity and exercise can be helpful, working on nutrition can also be beneficial in receiving desirable results. Jin has been coaching swim for over two years and currently offers swim lessons at the Georgetown Recreation Center. Jin coaches with an emphasis on biomechanics; as she says to her kids in the water “safety is most important,” and she believes this to also be true on land. In her free time, Jin runs on a daily basis, hikes, and cycles with her two dogs: Torchy & Mesquite.
