Personal Training

With the guidance of a personal trainer, you can set and attain realistic nutrition and fitness goals. You and your trainer determine how often you will meet (biweekly, weekly, bimonthly, etc.) Enjoy the benefits of a personal trainer: safety, accountability, encouragement and individualized attention.

Make your first appointment today! Choose a Personal Trainer from the list below, and contact him/her to set up your initial visit. Pay the required fee at the front desk at the time of your first visit. Membership is not required during personal training sessions. For any other visits to the Recreation Center, a membership or day fee is required.

One Session: $40 Resident/$50 Nonresident
Five Sessions – 1/2 Hour: $125 Resident/$175 Nonresident
Five Sessions: $175 Resident/$225 Nonresident
Ten Sessions: $340 Resident/$450 Nonresident

Pairs Training – 5 Sessions: $150/person Resident/$175/person Nonresident
Small Group Training (3-4 People) – 5 Sessions: $125/person Resident/$150/person Nonresident

Stephen Bauer

Steve’s fitness journey started back in 1996 when he was 60 pounds overweight and could no longer fit into his clothes. At that time, he met with a trainer who gave him a plan to lose weight and eat healthy. He lost 50 pounds and developed a love for fitness. Steve specializes in personal training, strength and conditioning, weight loss, and muscle and cardio endurance with an emphasis on building overall body strength, mobility, balance, flexibility, range of motion. He works with all fitness levels.

Jamie is a certified personal trainer and boot camp instructor. She is also a certified group fitness instructor and has taught classes for 7 years at the Georgetown Recreation Center including: Indoor Cycling, Circuit Training, Lunch Crunch /Quick Cardio and Power Pump. Jamie also leads City of Georgetown Wellness classes for the employee wellness program. She has turned her passion into her profession. Jamie was a longtime member before becoming a certified instructor and trainer. Her workout mantra is “workout because you love yourself, not because you hate your body.”

Shanna is a Certified Personal Trainer through IFA and has a B.A. and teaching certification from U.T She also holds certificates in Pilates Matwork as well as Advanced Functional Training.  Currently, she leads cardio-kickboxing classes at the Georgetown Recreation Center.  She believes nothing can change your life more than discovering the power behind proper nutrition, strength training, and cardiorespiratory fitness.

Karin holds a B.S. in Exercise and Sports Science, is an ACE Certified Personal Trainer with 15+ years experience, certified yoga instructor, indoor cycling instructor, and a sports conditioning specialist. Karin’s passion is not only making fitness fun and accessible for everyone’s lifestyle, but also sharing her knowledge, experiences, tips, and tricks to educate her clients on proper form, technique, and exercise programming. She strives to provide maximum results with time efficient and effective programs. In training, more is not better; smarter is better. Know the difference. Tyler holds a B.S. in Exercise Sport Sciences (Emphasis in Pre-Physical Therapy) and a personal trainer certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). He focuses his sessions on athletic injury prevention, sports specific activities, post rehabilitation, and goal-oriented exercise. He is dedicated to encouraging the client to exceed the expectations of their own capabilities through goal setting for their desired results. Tyler believes there are few things more exciting than helping others realize their fitness potential with a proper exercise and nutrition program.

Leesa has been athletic all her life. She started playing sports when she was young and continued playing basketball through college. After graduating with her Bachelor’s degree, she became a biology teacher and coach of many high school sports: basketball, volleyball, track, cross country, softball and tennis. After having twins, Leesa tried to be a stay at home mom. She looked to a local gym for sanity and soon after became an instructor. She became an ACE certified personal trainer and seven years later, she still loves every minute of it. She loves motivating people to improve themselves through exercise. “Not all people have the same goals or needs from exercise, but it is so rewarding for people to succeed at any level or age.”

Joni is a United States Army veteran. She holds a BA in Psychology and Social Work and a MS in Human Resources Management Training. Joni is an ACE Certified Personal Trainer and IFA Certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor. Additionally, she holds certifications in Senior Fitness, United States Masters Swimming, Nordic Walking, and Silver Sneakers. Joni is also a Licensed Massage Therapist who specializes in deep tissue massage and myofascial release. She enjoys running, competing in triathlons, and hanging out with her husband and 3 fur babies in her free time.

Laura is a Certified Personal Trainer through IFA (International Fitness Association). She is also a Mad Dogg certified spin instructor and has been teaching Group Fitness classes at the Georgetown Recreation Center and World Gym for several years, and has enjoyed sports her entire life. Laura believes that being active doing something you enjoy is the key to good health. “This philosophy, along with proper nutrition and weight training, changes your body and mind from the inside out. Everyone deserves to live their best life. All it takes is commitment and the will for positive change.”
