Spring 2023 Adventures (Ages 12 & Up)

Where: Georgetown Challenge Course
When: Saturday, April 15, 2023 (1-4 p.m.)
Fee: $40 Resident / $50 Nonresident

Join us for an afternoon of high adventure on the Georgetown Challenge Course. First, we will climb on our 50 foot tower. Next, participants will have the opportunity to traverse a telephone pole suspended 40 feet in the air.  And finally, participants will have the opportunity to stand on the top of a 30 foot pole and jump for a trapeze. Participants will need to complete the Liability Waiver on their account. We will meet at Booty’s Road Park (1631 Booty’s Road) Parking Lot. Youth under the age of 18 may only register with a participating adult.  More information will be emailed to participants about a week before the event.

Cinco de Mayo Full Moon Paddle
Where:  Blue Hole in Georgetown
When: Friday, May 5, 2023 (9-11 p.m.)
Fee:  $45 Resident / $55 Nonresident

Join us in celebrating Cinco de Mayo with a full moon kayaking event. We will paddle along the banks of the South Fork of the San Gabriel River at the Blue Hole. We welcome beginner and experienced paddlers alike. Participants will receive instruction in basic kayak handling. We will provide sit-on-top kayaks, paddles, and life jackets. Participants will need to complete the Liability Waiver on their account. Participants will need to bring a water bottle, swimsuit, and water shoes. More details will be sent in an email about a week prior to the activity. We will meet at the Blue Hole Park (100 Blue Hole Park). Youth under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult.

Texas Whitewater Adventure
Where:  Texas Hill Country River
When:  Saturday, May 13, 2023 (8 a.m. – @8 p.m.)
Fee: $50 Resident / $65 Nonresident

Join us as we head to a scenic Texas Hill Country River for some whitewater kayaking. We welcome beginners and experienced paddlers alike. Participants will receive instruction in river safety, river reading, and basic kayak handling. We will provide sit-on-top kayaks, paddles, life jackets, storage bags, and river guides. Participants will need to complete the Liability Waiver on their account. Participants will need to bring a sack lunch, two quart-sized water bottles, swimsuit, water shoes, sunblock, a change of clothes, and money for dinner. An old pair of sneakers makes a great water shoe. Please do not bring flip flops, Crocs, or water socks. These shoes can come off your feet in turbulent water! More details will be sent in an email about a week prior to the activity. We will meet at the Parks Administration Building (1101 N. College St.) Participants may ride with us or take their own vehicles. Youth under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult.
