Garey Park Pavilions

Garey Park offers six covered pavilions that surround the Play Ranch. All pavilions are accessible and have electricity.

The splash pad is open daily during park hours from April 1 through Oct. 31, weather permitting. The splash pad closes 30 minutes prior to park closing.

The opening of the splash pad at Garey Park will be delayed due to a mechanical issue discovered during a recent maintenance check. We are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible, but cannot provide an exact opening date at this time.

Pavilion Rental Procedures

1. Review the General Policies for Use and Refund/Cancellation Policy listed below.
2. Submit the online Rental Request.
3. Payment is due in full at the time of reservation.
   • A submitted rental request form does not guarantee approval of the request. Requests are processed in the order they are received, and some requests may require special permitting and/or additional fees before the rental request can be approved. 
   • If request is approved, applicant will receive a Rental Agreement within 2 business days of submitting a rental request. A rental is not confirmed until the Rental Agreement is signed digitally by the renter.
   • Applicant will be contacted by Garey Park if more information is required prior to approval.
   • Reservations must be made 3 days in advance of the requested date. Please call 512-930-6800 for rentals within 3 days. Fees include entrance into the park for all guests, up to the listed pavilion capacity.

Refund/Cancellation Policy

• Renter Cancellation. Rentals must be cancelled at least two (2) weeks prior to reservation date to receive a refund. Rentals cancelled within two (2) weeks of the reservation date will be charged a 20% administrative fee.
• Inclement Weather. In the event of inclement weather, a full refund will be given if the renter is unable to utilize at least two (2) hours of their reserved time. Renter must contact Garey Park by the end of the following business day to be eligible for a refund.
• Refunds. Refunds will be processed either in the original form of payment (e.g. credit card) or in the form of a check from the City of Georgetown. Allow two weeks for processing.

General Policies for Use

In addition to the Garey Park Rules, renters must adhere to the following policies:

• Full payment is due at time of reservation.
• Rental requests may be made no more than six months in advance.
• The Play Ranch area is open to the public and not available for exclusive use.
• Groups of 16 or more must reserve a pavilion if using the Play Ranch.
• All parties must exit the park prior to the posted closing time.
• The rental fee includes entry into Garey Park for all guests, up to the capacity of the pavilion. Guests must provide the name of the party group in order to gain entry into the park without charge.
• Anticipated attendance should not exceed the pavilion capacity. If attendance exceeds the maximum capacity, the renter will be charged $2 for each additional person. Children ages 3 and under are free. If you do anticipate more than 10 persons over capacity, we recommend you rent a larger pavilion.
• No single group may exceed 200 persons per reservation day.
• Groups may not rent more than one pavilion without prior approval.
• Portable grills are prohibited. Park grills are onsite, but may not be used during a burn ban. No heaters with open flame can be used.
• Glass beverage bottles, power strips, piñatas, confetti, sidewalk chalk, silly string, bounce houses, pop-up tents and water balloons are prohibited.
• No live music or amplified sound of any kind.
• Activities must stay within your rented pavilion.
• The time frame of your rental includes all setup and clean up time; no additional time is allotted for these activities. Renters are responsible for all set up, tear down and clean up. Trash must be disposed of properly.
• No decorations that will cause damage to the pavilion and/or surrounding area. All decorations must be removed and the area restored to its original state by the end of your reserved time.
• Do not drive or park on the grass for any reason, including loading/unloading vehicles.
• Fundraisers may not be conducted within the Play Ranch area.
• Individuals and organizations reserving facilities are responsible for all damages to the facility and/or equipment that occurs as a result of the reservation. Failure to pay fees for damaged property will result in the loss of future reservation privileges and/or future admittance into the park.
• Renters are responsible to inform their guests/event attendees of all Garey Park Rules and regulations.
• Individuals and organizations reserving facilities must comply with all Garey Park Rules. Failure to comply may result in denial of any subsequent use of facilities.
• The Georgetown Parks and Recreation Department reserves the right to terminate a reservation during the activity if conditions so warrant.
• Use of the rented area does not in any way imply that Garey Park or the City of Georgetown endorses, encourages, or approves the purpose of the user.

Parks Event Permits

Events held in Garey Park may require a Parks Event Permit. Some gatherings and organized activities may place unique demands on public resources or pose a potential danger to public health, safety and welfare. In order to plan for these demands and ensure safety, it is necessary that the City of Georgetown Parks and Recreation Department receives 30 days advance notice of these events.

Spring/Summer (April 1-Sept. 30, 2021

Steeplechase

The Steeplechase Pavilion is located just outside of the Play Ranch, off of the Lariat Loop Trail. It is within walking distance of all Play Ranch amenities including the restrooms, playground and splash pad.
