General Policies for Use

In addition to the Garey Park Rules, renters must adhere to the following policies:

  • Full payment is due at time of reservation.
  • As part of the rental of a pavilion, guests attending the event do not incur an additional entry fee upon entering the park. The capacity of the pavilion reserved dictates how many people/guests have admittance into the park under this rental.
  • Groups of 16 or more must reserve a pavilion if using the Play Ranch.
  • Rental requests may be made no more than one year in advance.
  • Included with the pavilion rental fee is free admission into the park for all guests attending the event, up to the designated capacity size of the pavilion. Upon entrance into the park, guests will need to provide the Gate House staff whomever’s name is on the reservation. Please ensure that all guests know this information so they are not charged when arriving at the Gate House.
  • Anticipated attendance cannot exceed the pavilion capacity. If attendance exceeds the maximum capacity, the renter will be charged $2 for each additional person attending. Children ages 3 and under are free.
  • For pavilion rentals scheduled until park closing, please keep in mind that our gates close promptly at closing time. We ask that all park guests start packing up 30 minutes prior to closing.
  • The splash pad operates March 31-October 31, turning off 30 minutes prior to closing time.
  • No portable grills. No use of park grills during a burn ban.
  • No decorations that will cause damage to the pavilion and/or surrounding area. All decorations must be removed and the area restored to its original state by the end of your reserved time.
  • Piñatas are not allowed.
  • The time frame of your rental includes all set up and clean up time; no additional time is allotted for these activities.
  • Renters are responsible for all set up, tear down and clean up. All trash must be disposed of properly.
  • Do not drive or park on the grass for any reason, including loading/unloading vehicles.
  • Glass beverage bottles, confetti, piñatas and water balloons are prohibited.
  • Bounce houses are not allowed.
  • Individuals and organizations reserving facilities are responsible for all damages to the facility and/or equipment that occurs as a result of the reservation. Failure to pay fees for damaged property will result in the loss of future reservation privileges and/or future admittance into the park.
  • Renters are responsible to inform their guests/event attendees of all park rules and regulations.
  • Individuals and organizations reserving facilities must comply with all Garey Park Rules. Failure to comply may result in denial of any subsequent use of facilities.
  • The Georgetown Parks and Recreation Department reserves the right to terminate a reservation during the activity if conditions so warrant.
  • Use of the rented area does not in any way imply that Garey Park or the City of Georgetown endorses, encourages, or approves of the purpose of the user.

Events held in Garey Park may require a Parks Event Permit. Some gatherings and organized activities may place unique demands on public resources or pose a potential danger to public health, safety and welfare.
