Fishing

Lampasas River Fishing

Ages 60+

Enjoy a beautiful morning of fishing on the Lampasas River near Rumley, Texas. We invite beginners as well as seasoned fishermen. You can use our fishing poles and tackle or you can bring your own. After we finish fishing, we’ll stop for lunch on our way home. You will be responsible for your lunch.

Blanco State Park Fishing

Enjoy a beautiful morning of fishing at Blanco State Park near Blanco, TX. We invite beginners as well as seasoned fishermen. You can use our fishing poles and tackle or you can bring your own. After we finish fishing, we’ll stop for lunch on our way home. You will be responsible for your lunch.

Pedernales Falls State Park Fishing

Experience archery in a step by step, simple to learn format. Taught by USA Archery Level 1 certified coaches, this course includes all equipment, instruction and fun games in a safe environment.

Zip Line

Join other adventurous adults with a trip to Zip Lost Pines with Georgetown Parks and Recreation! Zip Lost Pines is the ultimate group adventure in the heart of the Lone Star State. This adventure park blends high-flying zipline excitement with the breathtaking beauty of Texas and the Colorado River, catering to enthusiasts of all ages and physical abilities. This experience includes 6 zips, ranging from 146 feet to 1,316 feet at speeds up to 40 miles per hour! Zip Lost Pines has a weight limit of 250 pounds, and participants should be able to stand for 2.5 hours, be able to lift your knees to your waist, and be able walk up several flights of stairs. McKinney Roughs Nature Park Hiking

Inks Lake State Park Hiking

Enjoy a beautiful day on the hiking trails at Inks Lake State Park near Burnet. Take in the fresh air with a group of other outdoor enthusiasts. Bring a sack lunch, full water bottles, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and a go-get ’em attitude. Trails and distances will depend on the abilities of participants. Kayaking

Beginner Kayaking at Blue Hole

Ages 60+

This two-hour beginner class will introduce participants to
kayaking in a flat water environment. Instruction and all necessary gear will be provided, including kayaks, paddles, and personal flotation devices.

Willis Creek Kayak Adventure

Kayaks, paddles, personal flotation devices, transportation, and instruction are included. Details will be sent via email about a week prior to the activity.

Congress Avenue Bat Viewing Paddle

Ages 60+

Monday, Sept. 16, 3-9 p.m.

See roughly 1.5 million Mexican Free Tailed Bats emerge from underneath the Congress Avenue bridge while kayaking in the water below! Kayaks, paddles, personal flotation devices, transportation, and instruction are included.

Belton Lake Kayaking

Ages 60+

Wednesday, Sept. 25, 8 a.m.-2 p.m.

This is an out and back paddle that allows participants to return to the put in location at any time if they choose to do so. Kayaks, paddles, personal flotation devices, transportation, and instruction are included. Details will be sent via email about a week prior to the activity.

Indoor Skydiving

Indoor Skydiving at iFLY Austin

Ages 60+

Thursday, Dec. 12, 11 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Experience the exhilarating feeling of skydiving in a safe, controlled environment at iFLY Austin with other adventure enthusiasts! This program includes transportation, all necessary equipment and 2 one minute skydiving experiences. For those that are feeling more adventurous, add a high flight for an additional $20 (payable at iFLY on the day of the activity).  We’ll enjoy lunch at Kerby Lane Cafe (on your own) prior to the skydiving experience. iFLY may not be able to accommodate flyers who weigh between 260 and 300 pounds. You cannot fly if your weight exceeds 300 pounds, you are pregnant, or have hard casts or hard prosthetics that cannot be removed.   • 2-hour kayaking – $300 resident/$400 nonresident
  • 4-hour kayaking – $400 resident/$500 nonresident
  • 2-hour hiking – $300 resident/$400 nonresident
  • 4-hour archery – $300 resident/$400 nonresident
  • 2-hour recreational fishing* – $300 resident/$400 nonresident
    *This is not a guided fishing trip.

Private group rates are based on the residency of the organization/individual booking the program.

Rates include participation for up to 10 people, transportation to/from Georgetown, park entry fees (if traveling with Georgetown Parks & Recreation), all necessary outdoor gear and staff.
